The Midlands' Most Comprehensive Puppy Course – Equipping You with Everything You Need to Raise the Perfect Companion

Take the guess work out of raising a puppy, with expert advice and practical training

Let's get real...

❌ You're worried about having that out of control dog in the park that wont come back. Recall training should be at the top of your training list, but how do you even start to train a recall, and did you know, there is more to having a dog off lead than just good recall?

You're worried that your dream puppy will turn into a nightmare dog. So many dog owners get a puppy so they can raise them right, but sadly, so many people get it wrong, leading to reactive, fearful or aggressive dogs. Nobody gets a puppy hoping for that. So how do you ensure you do raise them right?

You're worried that the biting won't just be a phase and your dog will develop these habits for life. Biting is the hardest and most painful thing about having a puppy and did you know that yelping when they bite, doesn't work? In fact, your puppy's teething, isn't even the main reason for their biting...so what is?

You want a dog that gets along with everyone so you introduce them to lots of people and dogs from a young age. But did you know, by doing this, you risk having a dog that is reactive, drags you over to distractions, jumps up people and doesn't come back when called. Socialisation is not what you think it is and getting this wrong can lead to all sorts of future problems.

You're worried about taking your puppy out before vaccinations and them getting poorly so you keep them inside for weeks. Did you know, the socialisation window is small, meaning by the time you've waited for vaccinations, you've already missed that window. So how do you safely socialise them?

Lots of questions and concerns...But don't worry, you can get all the answers and learn how to train your puppy from You Tube and Social media right?

WRONG

Unfortunately the dog training industry is unregulated which means anyone can call themselves a dog trainer and start giving out advice, without any relevant qualifications. Unfortunately, a lot of social media trainers use painful and outdated methods, hidden behind clever editing and marketing, leading you to believe their training works. Often these techniques can have detrimental long term physical and mental impacts on your puppy's development.

Who This Is Not For

Owners Seeking Quick-Fix Methods

If you're looking for instant results or "quick fixes," this course may not meet your expectations. Our approach emphasises patience and positive reinforcement to create lasting behavioural change.

Those Interested in Punitive Training Techniques

This course is designed for those committed to force-free, positive reinforcement methods only. Owners interested in punishment-based techniques may not find this a good fit.

People Unable to Commit to Regular Attendance

Consistency is key in training. If you're unable to attend the majority of sessions, it may be difficult for your pup to progress and get the most out of the course

Those Expecting Fully Obedient Puppies After One Course

Puppy training is a journey that takes continued reinforcement at home. If you're expecting a fully trained dog after one course, this may not align with your expectations.

Owners Looking for One-on-One Attention

Group classes are a wonderful way for puppies to learn social skills, but if you’re seeking personalised, one-on-one training, a private session may be more suitable.

If Your Pup is Older Than 6 Months

This course is designed for puppies up to 6 months old at the start of the course. For older puppies, we recommend one-on-one training which is better suited to their developmental stage and needs.

MEET THE FOUNDER & CEO

Hey, I'm Leanne!

Meet Leanne – Your Expert Puppy Training Specialist

Let's get to know each other a little better. I'll go first...

Hi, I'm Leanne. My journey into the dog world started when I was a young girl. Unfortunately, I never had a dog as a child, but I was always drawn to dogs. I remember sitting on a train, I couldn't have been any older than 8, when a Boarder Collie with its owner approached me for a stroke. I remember this well as the owner said her dog never goes up to new people but for some reason was drawn to me. This is when I knew, my life would revolve around dogs.

As soon as I was able to work (at the young age of 13) I headed straight to my local boarding kennels where on a weekend, I cleaned kennels, and entertained the dogs. Once I left school I volunteered at Birmingham Dog's home and within just a couple of weeks, after seeing how passionate I was, was offered a full time job. From there, I joined the Military and served 4 years as an Army dog handler, serving 5 months in Iraq as a protection handler. Whilst I loved training the protection and sniffer dogs, the military was never really for me, I loved the dogs but that was about it, so after my 4 years came to an end, I went back to where it all started at 16, back in rescue, but this time working for Dog's Trust. I had the responsibility of looking after the new arrivals, assessing them and preparing them for rehoming. I absolutely loved working with rescues and whilst I was able to do a lot of training, I was growing tired of cleaning kennels. Luckily my next career was training assistance dogs and yay, no kennel cleaning. This job taught me so much about training and also gave me my passion for Labradors, rehoming my own Lab x Golden Retriever, Lucy. She's an incredible dog and has taught me more than I ever thought possible. Every day, she makes me push to be the best dog trainer I can be and that's why I started Paws Intuition.

I was always jealous of Dr Dolittle's ability to talk to animals, so I made it my life and passion to find a way to do so. Dogs can’t talk but they communicate in so many ways but often we don’t know how to understand them. My goal is to help as many dog parents, open up effective communication channels and to be able to understand why their dogs are behaving in a certain way and how to help them, without the use of force or fear. I love guiding new puppy parents through the challenges and excitement of puppyhood, to help them achieve the puppy they've always dreamt of.

I am a huge advocate for kind, ethical training and will never compromise on welfare for the sake of results...luckily I don't have to. I've dedicated my career to helping dogs, and continue to help hundreds of new puppy parents thrive. With 20+ years experience, you and your puppy are in safe hands.
